Teaching & academics

The ISI's "excellent" judgement across the board points to strong teaching and a culture of high expectations, reinforced by the small class sizes that an unusually low pupil-to-teacher ratio allows. With a sizeable proportion of pupils on the SEN register, the school appears geared towards supporting children individually rather than teaching to a single pace. Under Head Kelly Gray, the prep prepares pupils for the next stage at age 11.

Mobile phone policy

Mobile phones are not allowed in school, except in the case of children in year 6 who have been allowed to travel to and from school alone. If a child has a mobile phone for this purpose, it must be switched off and left in the school office during the day. Mobile phones are not permitted when children are on residential visits.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A nurturing, well-resourced Wandsworth prep with top inspection marks and a genuine strength in supporting different kinds of learners. Annual day fees of roughly £24,700 to £27,000 reflect its standing, and while a bursary fund exists, it was reportedly unused at the time of review.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.
