Teaching & academics

Results sit at the top end: 87% of GCSE grades fall in the 9-7 range and 89% of A-levels are graded A*-A, figures that point to a genuinely high-achieving cohort and competitive entry. The sixth form is strongly weighted towards the sciences, mathematics and economics, with Further Mathematics, Physics and the three separate sciences all popular, balanced by humanities such as History, Geography and English Literature. The presence of the IB and the EPQ gives able pupils alternative routes and room to extend themselves beyond the standard syllabus.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A historic, academically demanding boys' school with the breadth, boarding option and scholarship range to suit ambitious families. Boarding fees of up to £59,310 a year place it firmly at the premium end.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
