A small independent prep school on the north Norfolk coast, Beeston Hall educates around 176 boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 13, offering both day places and boarding. Its compact size lends a close-knit feel, and the Independent Schools Inspectorate awarded its most recent inspection the top grade of "excellent", finding compliance requirements fully met. Pupil personal development was also rated "excellent", a sign that wellbeing and character are taken as seriously as academic progress. Roughly a quarter of pupils receive SEN support, suggesting the school is geared to accommodate a range of learning needs.

Teaching & academics

The ISI judged the quality of pupils' achievement "excellent", the highest available grade. As a prep school running to age 13, much of the academic focus is on preparing children for senior school entry, and academic scholarships form part of the awards on offer. The notably high proportion of pupils receiving SEN support points to individual attention within a small teaching community.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A small Norfolk prep with full marks from the inspectors and a strong commitment to the whole child. Well suited to families wanting day or boarding places in a nurturing, individually attentive setting.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.
