Founded in 1722, Churcher's College has grown into a large, all-through independent school in Petersfield, taking pupils from age three through to the sixth form. Around 1,332 pupils are on roll, with a sizeable sixth form of 324. The Independent Schools Inspectorate rated the school excellent for both education quality and personal development, and found it fully compliant with regulatory standards. A significant Foundation, established in 2012, funds means-tested bursaries of up to 110 per cent, opening the school to families who could not otherwise meet the day fees of roughly £12,400 to £24,000 a year.

Mobile phone policy

Pupils can bring mobile devices to school, but they must be switched off during the hours of the school day and kept in locked pouches for pupils in years 7–11. Sixth form students can use their mobile devices in the sixth form centre, but must model good behaviour around the school site, with staff expected to do likewise. Age-appropriate educational work is done with pupils on safe and responsible use of mobile devices, including social media.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A long-established Hampshire school pairing genuinely strong results with a well-funded bursary programme, making it worth a look for ambitious families across the ability and income spectrum.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.
