Teaching & academics

At sixth form the popular subjects lean towards the social sciences and creative disciplines, with Psychology, Mathematics, History, Economics, Drama and Theatre Studies, Biology and Photography all well taken. GCSE choices are wide, covering the core sciences, humanities, two modern languages and a strong showing in the arts. Recent published attainment, however, has sat below the national average, so prospective families may wish to discuss results and progress directly with the school. The mix of academic and vocational routes, including BTECs alongside A-levels, gives pupils more than one path through the senior years.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A small, all-through independent that offers boarding and a flexible curriculum. Families drawn to its breadth should weigh that against recent attainment figures.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
