Founded in 1984, Rochester Independent College has built a reputation for doing things a little differently, with a notably large sixth form of 232 pupils within a total roll of just over 400. The college takes a flexible approach to qualifications, offering GCSEs, A-levels, BTECs and the EPQ, and its breadth of subjects, including Russian and Chinese, reflects an unusually wide curriculum for a small school. Both day and boarding places are available from age 11, with entry at 11+. Around a quarter of pupils receive SEN support, suggesting a school used to teaching in a personalised way.

This isn’t a question bank. Watch it decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A small, independent-minded college where a strong sixth form and a wide subject range suit pupils who want choice and individual attention. Means-tested bursaries of up to 100% widen the door considerably.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
